Long overdueeee

I've been MIA for awhile now i've kinda lost the urge to blog these past few weeks!

Finals in less than 2 weeks and oh boy, have i got ALOT to study :(

Anyways, my long overdue post about my Penang trip almost 3 weeks ago like finally!

Attended a relative's wedding over at E&O. Apparently, one of the highest class hotels in Penang! O.O


The ballroom was kinda small compared to the one's in KL though.


Greeted with awesome scenery at the backyard during the pre-wedding cocktail event ;)



They even set up a 'CANDY BAR'!!!! All the kids went goo-gaaaa over it, including ME! :D


Table full of sweets, what more can you ask for? ;)


Typical wedding with the same old routine...bride walks in, everyone cheers, we eat, they give speeches, cut the cake.. yada yada.. oohh but one thing i remembered clearly was they had a real good live band serenading us with music whilst eating! :D Mann those people could really sing and play good music. Accompanies the food perfectly! ;)

The starters were something out of the ordinary..baby fried squids, papaya salad prawn and two other quite unique dishes (i can't rmb its been too long!)


And of course, shark's fin soup, MY FAV!! :D

I missed taking pics of some dishes in between (it was quite odd actually taking pics in front of old people who can't wait to devour the food HAHA!) so i was abit paiseh :P

And of course, a Chinese wedding wouldn't be complete without Loh Mai Fan (Glutinous Rice!)
Its like a typical dish to serve I can't seem to figure out why.


And the wedding cake which was actually a fruit cake!

I was quite bored halfway throughout the wedding hearing all the aunties talk, and my camera sucks so it couldn't entertain me much. Boo! (I WANT A NEW CAMERA FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!) Couldn't get the functions right and the pictures came out quite awful :(

There were so many pretty roses and I loved it so much i wanted to take them home! :D


Quite a night especially for my parents having able to meet all their old uncles and aunties and friends who they haven't met for ages. They kept telling me who that person is (trust me its hard to remember when they tell you how to call them in hokkien) and I realise i have so many relatives who i didn't even know existed =.=

I guess thats how Chinese families get so big sometimes! I'm probably related to someone in uni whom I don't even know and I won't be surprised! HAHAHA. Okay, maybe not that 'kua cheong' but you get what i mean!

Final week of class this week and I'm done for Year 2 WOOHOO! :D

But then to exams first before freedom.. sigh! Can't wait I've got so many things planned out! Eat, sleep and be merry! Hahahahhaa!

Okay I'm hyper now. Just got back from a friend's 'surprise' party and it'was so ironic how we were suprised instead of him =.=

I better sleep before I start crapping about how the night went. Gonna be internet-less for 4 days :(
But i'll be back with a bang i.e. a much much faster internet connection at 4MBps!! :D :D :D

Food makes the world happy

My blog is dead, again cos I've been far to lazy to update.

I have a truckload of backdated pictures that i've yet to resize and edit and its accumulating over time but I'm soo lazy to do anything about it.

Anyways, I feel like blogging about food now so here's some foodie pics during my recent Penang trip! :D

My favourite 'oh chien' aka fried egg with oysters! Heavenly!!


Well, Penang is famous for their hawker fare, but I didn't bother taking any pictures since we can get it in KL anyway, taste better somemore!! But the oh chien looked too good I had to take it! :D

Otw to Penang we dropped by Bkt Tambun for some baked crabs with rice recommended by my dad's friend.

No regrets, it was something unusual.. the crabs were huge and succulent and the rice was so fragrant you can just eat it by itself!


We ordered the marmite pork ribs. I know it looks black and disgusting, but it was pretty good as well. The only complain I had was that there were more bones than meat =.=


And steamed fish with preserved radish! YUMs! I love chai po (preserved radish!)!!!! :D


So the detour was worthwhile at least we filled our tummies with good food! :D

Okay thats it for now. Sorry for ending so abruptly but i suddenly feel so sleepy!! *yawns*

Dreading law class at 9.30am tomorrow and exams in 2 weeks! *wails*

Penang baybeh!

Haven't found the time to update! Been so caught up with 'work'!

Just completed my assignment due on Monday. Hardcore the whole night okeh =.=

Thats because I wanna enjoy my trip to Penang this weekend for a relative's wedding! :D

How I <3 weddings..the time I get to doll-up! HAHA.

Penang never fails to impress me! Hopefully the food this time around would be better since its not CNY and there won't be any cut-throat hawkers! :S

I'd be watching IP Man 2 over at One U tmr before I leave to Penang in the afternoon! The first movie was awesome..hopefully this one won't disappoint!

Mini updates

I know i know my blog's so dead.

I've got a backlog of food pictures in my camera taken more than a week back but I've been to busy (more like lazy) to transfer and blog about it. Why oh why does assignments, exams and uni in general have to suck out all the life out of us T____T

Got an assignment (a darn boring one!!!) due this Friday which we've yet to properly start. Not a word has been typed so God help us! And final exams are drawing very near (i think 5 weeks!). D-DAY! :S

Had my dinner at 5pm today. It's almost 1am and my tummy's rumbling like no tomorrow :( I'm starving but there's nothing in my house which is interesting to eat :(

I'M CRAVING FOR SAUSAGE EGG MCMUFFIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *wails*

If only I had a doraemon with me! I'll be able to dig into that little pocket of his to satisfy my craving! :'(

Weekends pass too fasttttt

Mid terms are officially over woohoo! :D

And to treat myself, I bummed around and did absolutely nothing, not touching any of my books at all for the weekend! ;)

I can really only enjoy this weekend :(

I just realised I've got an assignment due end April which I've not yet started yet alone even properly read the question :S sigh. Why does deadlines after deadlines need to be met??!! *wailsss*

Well uni aside, had seafood dinner over at Bangsar Seafood Garden on Tuesday night after ages not walking into that place. Quite pricey okehh :P


I can see they're probably still in the CNY mood! 'like knock knock hello??!!'



But they've got pretty interiors and spacious place.



I was there ages ago, and one thing i vividly remember eating at that time was their fried squids which i recalled was absolutely delicious!! I told my dad 'WE MUST ORDER IT!' and we did! :D

Suffice to say, it was still DARN GOOD!

Yums!!

The waiter's recommendation which was delicious as well, especially the thai styled chicken!


The crabs were thumbs up as well!!! The colour of the crab looks weird here (must be the lousy lumix camera!!) but trust me, it tastes better than it looks! :D


I enjoyed this dish especially the gravy which was more like soup, having a sourish and tangy taste to it, my absolute fav!!


This was normal.. my dad always orders this whenever we go to chinese restaurants. It's either this or belacan kangkung =.=


We didn't have rice, so we decided to try out their udon noodles. I haven't had udon in ages so it was such a good choice! Good stuff! I had a huge prawnn :P


We were stuffed from dinner but well, everything savoury needs to be accompanied by something sweet right? HAHA.

So we tried their mango sago (i was too greedy i forgot to take a pic!) and their ice kacang.

Desserts were not bad but not fantastic. The best ice-kacang is still the one in Penang! :D

Good food but slightly pricey, so go with mummy and daddy! haha.

Classes resume on Monday again. Sigh, I don't wanna go backkkkkk!

Last paper tomorrow @ 2.30pm!

Can't wait!! Ahh! Like, finally!!! I'll get to enjoy in the weekend woohoo!

Hopefully it would be okayy...I slacked alot on this one :S
